2013 Westcoast Ride To Live

I just rode in the annual Westcoast Ride To Live, an event to raise funds for The Prostate Centre in Victoria. The Prostate Centre provides Vancouver Island men with education and support, and funds cancer research.  This year the event was a bit different than previous annual events, with a ride of hundreds and hundreds of riders doing a place to place (stops at different sponsored points) rather than the longer-run  'marathons'.  Although it was cloudy and rained intermittently, it stayed dry enough (until the end of the event) for a reasonable ride.  The event's main sponsor is the local Steve Drane Harley-Davidson dealer (the local Kenco Enfield dealer also was one of the sponsors), so my Royal Enfield Bullet was out-numbered by, oh, 1000 to 1!  There were a number of other bikes from Honda, Yamaha, etc, but the only 'out of the ordinary' bikes were mine and a old Russian Yugo with a sidecar.  The event raised over $83,000!
I didn't end up taking many pictures, but here's one of my bike parked in the crowd.
